How to place wooden pallets on shelves

Wooden pallets are a common means of cargo storage and transportation, and are widely used because of their relatively cheap price, durability, and easy cleaning. Placing wooden pallets on the shelves can make effective use of space and improve storage efficiency. Here’s how to put wooden pallets on the shelves.

The first thing to consider is the height and depth of the shelf. The height of the shelf should take into account the top space in the warehouse and the operating height of the personnel, usually not more than 2.5 meters. The depth of the shelf should consider the depth of the goods and the size of the wooden pallet, which is generally 1-1.5 meters. Consider the size and load-bearing capacity of wooden pallets. Wooden pallets of different sizes follow different rules when placed. For example, wooden pallets of standard size (1200*1000mm) can be stacked staggered to save space, while wooden pallets of European standard size (1200*800mm) should follow the principle of “in and out in four directions”, that is, leave at least 200mm around The space is convenient for forklift operation. At the same time, it is necessary to choose a suitable placement and method according to the load-bearing capacity of the wooden pallet, so as to prevent the wooden pallet from being broken due to excessive weight.

Third, the characteristics and quantity of the goods should be considered. Goods with light weight and poor stability should be stacked or staggered, and reinforced with supports to increase stability. Heavy and bulky goods should be placed in layers to prevent the goods on the lower layer from being deformed under pressure. The large quantity of goods should be classified and placed according to the volume of the shelves and the size of the wooden pallets, so as to facilitate picking and management.

Pay attention to keep the shelves and wooden pallets clean and safe. Clean the shelves and wooden pallets of dust and dirt frequently to prevent dust accumulation, bacteria and ants. At the same time, keep the shelves and wooden pallets away from moisture, heat or direct sunlight, so as not to affect the service life of wooden pallets.

To sum up, the placement of wooden pallets on the shelves needs to consider many factors, including the height and depth of the shelves, the size and load-bearing capacity of wooden pallets, the characteristics and quantity of goods, etc. Only by placing wooden pallets in a reasonable and scientific way can the warehouse space be effectively used and storage efficiency improved.
